Brian T. Herrick Assistant Section Chief Brian Herrick, Supervisor of the FBI’s Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Programs, Federal Bureau of Investigation, HQ Mr. Brian T. Herrick received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Technology and Electronic Commerce from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Villanova University. Mr. Herrick has also served at both Universities as an adjunct professor of Criminal Justice. Mr. Herrick is currently a Master’s degree candidate in the Computer Science program at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering. Prior to working for the FBI, Mr. Herrick was Director of Information Technology for IntelliCorp, a Silicon Valley based software development and consulting services firm. Mr. Herrick entered on duty as a Special Agent (SA) of the FBI in December, 2002. From 2003 to 2006, SA Herrick was assigned to the Buffalo NY Division where he worked both violent crime and cyber matters, and served as the Division's InfraGard Coordinator. In Buffalo, SA Herrick attained certification as a CART Digital Forensics Examiner. In 2006, SA Herrick transferred to the Philadelphia Division where he worked computer intrusion investigations until 2009 when he was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA), leading the Philadelphia Cyber Crime Task Force. In this role, SA Herrick managed all cyber investigations involving computer intrusions, the online sexual exploitation of children, intellectual property rights violations, identity theft and Internet based frauds. In June, 2012, SSA Herrick was promoted to Assistant Legal Attaché (ALAT) in Frankfurt, Germany. As the Senior FBI representative to the US Consulate in Frankfurt, SA Herrick handled all violations of criminal laws within Germany with a nexus to the U.S., and was embedded with the German Federal Criminal Police (BKA), where he worked numerous joint investigations with European partners, covering both criminal and national security matters. In June, 2016, ALAT Herrick reported back to Philadelphia Division where he supervised the investigation of criminal computer intrusion matters, and in June, 2017 was promoted to Unit Chief (UC) in the Major Case Coordination Unit in the Criminal Investigative Division at FBIHQ supervising global child exploitation matters. In January 2019, UC Herrick was promoted to Assistant Section Chief (ASC) overseeing all crimes against children and human trafficking matters. ASC Herrick is a police instructor and has taught investigative and technical classes throughout the US, as well as internationally at INTERPOL, EUROPOL, and ILEA, as well as locations throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
